Video Shows "UFO" Seen From Airplane Over Seoul, South Korea

UFO over Seoul, South Korea probably a hoax.
UFO over Seoul, South Korea? Probably a hoax.
Look! Down in the sky! Is that a flying saucer?

A video (below) was uploaded to YouTube by "crazybreakingnews" on Saturday, April 7, 2012 claims that a UFO was seen from a passenger plane over Seoul, South Korea on the same date.

The "UFO" is below the airplane, at a lower altitude. Whatever is it - whether real or a computer-generated fake - it is saucer-shaped.

The video already had 2,335,126 views as of 5:50 p.m. CDT on April 10, 2012.
Update: I checked the video on July 18, 2020 at 1:14 a.m. CDT and it had 6,690,672 views.

"This UFO was filmed by a passenger over the City of Seoul in South Korea on April 07, 2012," wrote crazybreakingnews, "I don't know, but it looks a little bit strange and not really similar to the other videos. If it's really real and not a fake, it looks like a kind of military drone for me. What do you think?" I think it looks fake, too. Have a look at the 53-second video here and tell us what you think. Crazybreakingnews does not say what the source of the video is, which makes me suspicious.

UPDATE 11 April 2012: I'm not the only one who thinks this is probably not real.

"Aside from the anonymity of the cameraman," says CSMonitor.com, "the video raises some red flags about its authenticity. For one thing, the video is not complete; it has been purposely edited to leave some information out. We know this because it begins in progress, with the UFO already well in the frame, in the lower right-hand corner. The video camera didn't suddenly turn on to capture that scene..."

January 26, 2012 - UK - The Teesdale Mercury newspaper has an amazing story about a close encounter with a UFO.

A man and woman, both 84 years old, say that the glowing object came within inches of their car.

"Two Barnard Castle pensioners say a flying saucer hovered inches from their car as they drove home at night," reports the Mercury in an article dated January 26, 2012. "Bruce and Priscilla Wetherill ... have described the brief encounter at 'frightening'. They say the UFO sighting happened near Arlaw Banks (see map) on Darlington Road (A67) between the towns of Gainford and Barnard Castle, as 'frightening'."

The couple described the UFO as silent and shaped like a flying saucer, dark on top and glowing underneath.

Mrs Wetherill is quoted as saying, “We saw this thing heading towards us – it was coming right at us and was as low as the car and huge," and "Bruce kept driving but we both ducked down, expecting it to hit us. I thought, ‘This is it, we’ve had it’."

According to the Mercury, the Wetherills's UFO sighting occurred two years ago "but they wanted to come forward after a spate of recent UFO sightings in Teesdale." More at the Teesdale Mercury...

On February 10, 2009 the Mercury published "Little Green Men Over Teesdale?"

"Several strange sightings in the area were reported last month," the 2009 report said. "On-lookers described seeing three balls of light that became orange and then disappeared. People living in other areas of County Durham also saw the lights. Witnesses Jeff Edwards said he watched the UFO over Barnard Castle .... The incident was reported to uk-ufo.co.uk, a website listing unexplained incidents in Britain. It was said to have taken place between 6pm and 6.30pm on January 1 [2009]." Full story....
